lifting question (again)

Hi guys, I have a question. I put a clevis hitch on my C165/8spd and, I am having problems. First of all I would like to say, Thanks to Kelly and Operator for fixing me up with the stuff to put it on. The problem I am having is , I can't get it to lift high enough to not drag the piece of equipment. If I change the length of chain, it either won't lift high enough or go down low enough. What am I doing wrong? any help is appreciated. Thanks Pat

Do you have it hooked up in the right hole on the bell crank? I'd start experimenting with different holes.

You can, also, do some trunnion adjustments on the end of your lift cable.

I made a cable to fit it but, I may have to get the right one thats made for it. Does anyone know if someone on here may have one? It seems between the bell crank and the hitch itself there isn't enough movement. There is only 1 hole on the bell crank I have, and 3 holes on the lift mechanism under the tractor. Pat

Not sure about the length, but the cable part number is 108144. there is also listed 2 different length clevis's, where the cable hooks to the bell crank. Short one part number is 108145 and the long clevis part number is 108143. I have the complete manual and I uploaded it to Mikesrj's web sight, Clevis hitch assembly #85518. If you want to send me your e mail in a private message I could try to send you a copy.
