hoppy 0 #1 Posted May 17, 2010 backround.................tractor has sat for 12+ years. got it running in 30 minutes and purrs like a kitten but it appears the gaskets have taken there toll over the years and i have some oil leakage from what appears to be mostly around the valve cover and working its way down. i was however considering replacing all the gaskets in this motor if they are available. where are you guys buying your gaskets? motor: 8hp Kohler Model K181S SN#A194747 Spec#30108D anyone help me out? sorekiwi 761 #2 Posted May 17, 2010 Gasket sets (and individual gaskets) are still available from Kohler and aftermarket. The last couple I have bought have been from Napa - they can get either OEM or Stens. The Kohler set was only about $5 more than the Chinese set so I got OEM. Sorry dont have a part # with me right now.
rick 246 #3 Posted May 18, 2010 This is off topic(not Wheel Horse related) but since you mentioned Chinese, I will go with it. The last OEM Briggs gasket set I ordered was "Made in China".
