Irv 115 #1 Posted May 17, 2010 This is my first Wheel Horse (and only til about 3 yrs. ago). A 216-5 bought new in 1985. About 3 yrs. ago, after cutting the grass and putting the tractor away in the shed out back, I was headed in the house for a nap as my son was leaving. After talking to him a minute, he asked me what the smoke out back was coming from-yes, the tractor was on fire in the shed. We ran back there and pulled it out of the shed, grabbed a hose and put the fire out. The hood, gas tank, wiring and the motor were toast. Had he not seen the smoke and I went in for my nap, I'm sure my shed and the half acre of woods behind it would have been gone. Had to have another Wheel Horse and that's when the sickness began. I have 9 now, C, 300 and 400 series and this 216-5 that I eventually found the parts to put it back together and a twin briggs for it.

jpmcleod 4 #4 Posted May 17, 2010 Man, that tractor looks great. I have to share this with you. I had a dream two nights ago that lightning hit my barn and all my tractors and my all original 1989 Bronco II burned up. I woke up in a cold sweat. Can't imagine the real thing you experienced. That twin Briggs really looks good under that hood.
