pumper.atv 26 #1 Posted May 16, 2010 what is the difference between a charger 12 and an electro 12 of the same year? Why do they have the electro name added? :USA:
FrankinWNY 12 #2 Posted May 16, 2010 I think it is for the electric PTO clutch on the Electro versus the manual clutch on the Charger. I have had both and that is the only difference other than the decals I could find. Not sure but I think an electric lift was an option also. rickv1957 70 #3 Posted May 16, 2010 The Electro had the electric clutch, hyd lift and hubcaps as standard equipment,Rick
pfrederi 17,199 #4 Posted May 16, 2010 Some Chargers had the solid state (breakerless) ignition systems...some had battery breaker systems. I believe all the Electros had the breakerless solid state system....
TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #5 Posted May 16, 2010 I believe all the Electros had the breakerless solid state system.... Nope. The '68 Electros had magneto ignition just like the late '68 Chargers. (early '68 Chargers had battery ignition with a starter/generator) Like Rick V. said........ An Electro is a Charger 12 with standard hydraulic lift and an electric PTO clutch. (not too sure on the hubcaps being standard on all years though)
