papaglide 542 #1 Posted May 7, 2010 well I bought my $400 520 H earlier. Got it home and realized that a lot needs to be done to it. The Onan runs nice but the tractor just looks like hell, lot of surface rust. My first major question: situation: I can walk faster than the tractor can move forward at full throttle and with the hydro lever all the way forward. question: how do I adjust the hydro to move the full range of motion? I think that it has to do with the linkage under the seat but I don't know how to adjust it properly. I checked the hydro oil and the level was good. I will get pictures up tomorrow. Thanks. I have not had to adjust mine yet, (but need to) but you are correct about the adjustment being under the seat. I know there are several threads here saying and showing how to make this adjustment. Someone will chime in here and tell you how to make these adjustments. As far as the rust, that can be corrected with a paint job. "Id rather have a rusty 520 than a brand new push mower any day." And photos are always a good thing.
jpmcleod 4 #3 Posted May 7, 2010 Hey Raider12. I like what you said about the rusty ride beats a new push mower. Kinda goes along with "A raggedy ride beats a sporty walk". I love it.
