Making some progress. Most of the parts are painted and just need assembly. Still need to make the belt cover fit, paint the rimsand build some weelie bars. I seem to like the mudder tires better then these 10.5s

looking great! I like the mudders too, but I think it would be cool with a set of wide street tires, something like on Kellys rat. :D

Some more progress on the Rat today. It's gettin closer. I fit up a C series belt guard but I need something to cover the shaft. I was thinking of using pipe but I would prefer something cone shaped. Any ideas on what I could find to use for a cone shape cover? Needs to be at least 1 3/4" deep. The belt guide tabs will be cut off and setup inside the cover.

That baby is lookin' good!

My favoret place to find stuff is the kitchen supplys section!

Stainless steel, aluminum, Them li'l mixin' bowls, salt 'n pepper shakers!

Look at flower vases, candel sticks, anything shinny will work!

You could silicone glue something to the shaft too!

I don't look at anything for what it is, but what it can be!

:D HORSEFEATHERS!

I was thinking about adding an idler pulley to gain more contact area for the belt going around the small 3" trans pulley. The belt only contacts about 1/3 of the surface which seems like it will be prone to slipping. Any thoughts on weather I need to do this or not?

Maybe a chain link fence post cap would cover the shaft. I'll take a look around the kitchen too. I don't really want to attach anything to the shaft because of it spinning that close to my leg. If that thing grabs my pants, it'll leave more than a mark.

For that PTO cap, try a cycle handle-bar grip, cut down some.

Go find a nice bullet shaped center cover for a mag wheel. Then make a metal ring to weld to the belt cover that it will fit in.

If I had her phone #, I'm sure the shaft would already be covered

I had to paint this one Chris, lots of bare metal and crappy rusted up parts.
