Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I ended up with a 703 this week and it has a Kohler electric start 7 from the factory I can only assume... Soooooooooooo What has a 753 got that a 703 doesn't---doesn't the ---5--- mean electric start? :D

Enquiring minds want to know...

Tony

All I have to add is a my 753 had the starter/generator. Not a starter and an altenator. Im not sure which one your 703 has?

Tony,

I don't think there was a 703. In 1963, Wheel Horse made the 603, 633, 653 and 753. The 603 was called 603 Special, 6 hp Tecumseh, no fenders, pull start and few other things missing. The 633 had pull start, 6 hp Tecumseh, the 653 electric start 6 hp Tecumseh and the 753, electrical start 7 hp Kohler. There was no 703.

OK... so I'm an idiot, :D I meant to say a 702. But I still don't get why it wouldn't of been a 752...... Its a 7 Kohler with starter generator.

Wheel Horse didn't quite have their (model) numbers system figured out yet.

A 701 is the same way.

in a perfect world the 701 should have been 751 and the 702 should have been a 752 :D

I think you're right, Kelly. It looks like the 633 was indeed Kohler powered.

Sorry to reignite such an old thread, but I saw this on Facebook and it sparked my curiosity. Many people claiming there is no such thing as a 703.

They do exist my late dad had one. We took it to the LaGrange Indiana gas and steam show for a couple of years my dad got accused of making the decal and we did not make the decal it came that way. We also know a couple of wheel horse experts guys that their fathers and grandfathers had dealerships and they said it was an extremely rare one.
