littleredrider 409 #1 Posted May 1, 2010 Going to a local yard that has some 'horses. Looking for a motor and maybe an 8 speed tranny and hubs. What model came with this stuff?? littleredrider 409 #6 Posted May 2, 2010 This one is in Maine NY, just outside of Binghamton NY. And they didn't have crap. They had 1 Wheel horse tractor, think it was a Charger, 10 or 12 horse. No motor, deck, cracked tranny, one rear tire, it did have rear hubs, but they were 1 1/8", I need 1". so that yard was a waste. But I did find this at a local dealer. I figured if anybody would have or know where there is parts and dealer would know. They didn't have anything other than this 854. It must have been in the family a long time, cause when I asked what he wanted for it, he said he had to talk to the family about selling it and for what price. Other people would ask him for a price, he would just say $8k just to shut them up. I really don't think he was serious, but I do think he wants alot for it, but the kicker of this one is, is a coupe years ago when the area got flooded, so did the tractor, completely under water. So the motor is locked up, and guess the tranny is OK, but still will need a tear down. littleredrider 409 #7 Posted May 2, 2010 But it wasn't a total of a wasted day. Was talking to a good friend of mine bout my ranger, and that was looking for parts for it. He said that him and someone else went to this old lady's house for something, think it was to get a car, (buddy owns a small junkyard) and at this house was covered in old tractors. I guess that old man collected horded restored or something with old tractors, and he main interest was Wheel Horses. From what my buddy was saying they are all from the 50s and 60s, scattered all over the property and in the woods. I guess you can't see them, specially with leaves on the trees. Only way to know what house is by the 2 door Lemans for sale in front of the house. Think that's why they went there in the first place. So, I need to find this house!!!!!
