C195 with a loader

Recommended Posts

Hi, guys,

So here's what may be an off-the-wall request. There's a C195 with a loader for sale on Fleabay. I don't think I'm allowed to post the item number, but it's the only one on there right now.

My best friend who gave me 312-8 #1 from his sister's estate and started me off with this madness...er...addiction...used to have a B-80 of his own years ago when he lived in Connecticut. When he moved up here to NH he bought a (forgive me) green garden tractor to take care of his property (more like a small farm). As he's getting older and the kids are growing up, he realizes he needs something with a little more oomph to get his work done, especially something with a bucket loader. He's also been helping me with restoring my machines and realizes how much he misses a Wheel Horse. So there's the background in a thumbnail....

With a daughter almost ready to go to college and two others who are very active in sports and the like, he doesn't have the financial resources to go out and buy a new machine. Out of the clear blue, this C195 package pops up. Needless to say, we're interested.

First, if there's a member here who's got his heart set on the machine, we don't want to get into a bidding war. None of us is wealthy, and I have too much respect and affection for you guys to drive the price up. But if no one here wants to take a crack at it, then I would ask as a huge favor for you to have a look at the listing and tell me what you think. Ideally, if there's a member that lives really close to the seller who could scout it out, I'd be eternally grateful, but that's an awful lot to ask, and I wouldn't if we weren't looking at a 14 hour round trip to check it out.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and any replies will be deeply appreciated! :D

Duff,

I saw that and it looks like a nice set up. The only thing I can say is the fender pan is a replacement and not correct but for a loader machine it really does not matter. I would imagine that will go for about $2k or more.

Is it me, or does the front right wheel or spindle look crooked?

Nice machine though....don't worry about me bidding it up.

If it weren't all the way out by Pittsburg, I would definitely be bidding on it!

I was wondering about counter weights or the lack of them.

I looked at it on ol'bay and i didn't pickup anything about a weight bucket for the rear. No three point hitch either. It does look good and straight but I think the lore of the loader is a little over-rated. IMHO guys. :D

I live about 75 miles from the 195 and have a bid on the machine at this time, but I have a set price in mind that I wont go over period. I now have 5 c195s but no loader, so am interested in it. I corresponded with the seller and the tractor had the metal pan on it when he got it. Also it is an earlier model that had the hydraulics set low on the fender, not the 84 model. If you get it over me maybe you could sell me the extra hood!

Thanks for the "heads up", Jaydeer! It's about an 8 hour drive each way for us to even look at the machine, let alone buy it and haul it back to my buddy's house, so I'll back out gracefully and keep my fingers crossed that you can get it for a decent price. The last thing I want to do is drive up the price on something a fellow member really wants and can use, although if the machine was in ME, NH, VT, MA or CT, we might be having a different conversation (just kidding!!!). :D

Good luck and thanks to all who have replied!

Best wishes always,

Duff :USA:

You can see in the auction pictures it has had the fender replaced with a steel unit. Also the original gas tank and 3pt mounts were removed.

A few pics from back when it was in Ohio. It was a dedicated loader tractor then also.

Duff. I have a C-195 and replaced the fender pan also. It's a little different from the one in the pic. I believe the gas tank may be original as the replacement fender pan does not cover cover the back of the tank. Mine had the original plastic fender pan and it was all busted up.

That's a good looking tractor. I can't understand why they put plastic on a working machine. My grandson ran into a tree with one of my other brand of tractor with a plastic hood. To say the least, it shattered it. I replaced it with another brand of tractor hood that was all metal. Painted it the color of the tractor, put new decals on it and no one knows the difference.

Love the wide bar tires.
