b-80boz 0 #1 Posted April 28, 2010 I bought an air comp. with I THINK IS A 12 HORSE MAGNUM ON IT I`m wanting to put this on an older sears suburban. It has a pulley on it that I`m not sure how it will come off. IT HAS 3 BOLTS ON THE FACE of it I took those out but I still can`t get it to budge .Is there something else I need to do or should I just try a puller and a mallet I cant find any set screws on it just wondering if anyone has a trick up their sleeve on getting this off. Any help would be appreciated thanks. :omg:
W9JAB 156 #2 Posted April 28, 2010 it sounds like you have a "split taper bushing" type of sheave (pully) if you do, take a look at the holes around the bushing 1/2 will be threded 1/2 will be thru holes. Take the bolts out of the thru holes and put them in the threded holes, as you thighten them up evenley it will work as a puller and separate the two parts. if this is not what you have please post a pix. TT-(Moderator) 1,147 #4 Posted April 29, 2010 Formally know as a "quick detachable" or "QD" bushing. Here's some informative reading courtesy of Allied Bearings Supply: QD bushings
