I just picked up this supposed 1963 Lawn Ranger this past Saturday. From doing some searching, looks to be a 63. The motor isn't, came from something from 1967. This is the only pics I have at the time, will get more later on.

Congrats on the new (to you) tractor and :omg:

You should download the pictures from that listing as the seller will probably cancel it now that it's sold. Or take better pix in the daylight. :D

All the times I've looked at those pics waiting to hear back from the guy, I never noticed the center caps. But, the front has them, the rear doesn't. It also has the foot rests, they are sandblasted, just need to POR and red paint.

I've always wanted one of these, could never find one. It didn't come with a mower deck, which I really want to get, anybody in the Binghamton NY area have one?? Is there another model of WH that I could take the deck off?? There is a junkyard that has some old WH's, but last I looked nothing like the ranger.

I want to keep it somewhat the way it is, but want to put different tires on it. IMO the rear tires are too skinny and looks goofy. My backyard seems to always be wet, think I might sink a little once I get the mower on.

I think the motor is gonna need a rebuild too. Idling is fine, but rev it with the governor is smokes some. And it does smoke a little when it's cold. But all in all, for $300 I'm not gonna complain. Other than it is incredibly slow!!!!!

For some reason won't let me load pics.....

Never knew what a pain it is trying to find parts for these things. Even went to a 'horse dealer, and since he's been doing it, he has never seen one.

There is one on ebay complete with a deck, but IMO he wants too much for it for the shape that it's in. He's only a couple hours away from me too. Wouldn't mind having another one, one to keep nice, and one to do what ever to...

Ooohhh! Another one enters the matrix! It starts with the first tractor, then one to keep it company, then another because the first two lack [insert your specific need here], and so on and so on as the herd grows!

Boys, we got us another one!!!! :D

I've been looking at some pics of these early 60s tractors, and other than the tires, doesn't look like there is much difference between the rangers and 603, 703, etc.

What is the difference??
