Operator 7 #1 Posted April 22, 2010 Thanks to Confussed99, he found it for me on CL. I got a great tiller for my D-200 very nice condition, PPO said it hasn't been used much , right after they bought a new [at the time] D-200 the tractor got stole and the tiller sat for 20 years! They used it on a Kubuta I guess but the rpm was off a little. Check it out - - Unloading - You can see origional paint in tine area D' looks good huh? This critter is big and heavy! What you all think? Looks good huh? Got to get the PTO shaft in D now! Randy

catman81056 3 #5 Posted April 22, 2010 Good luck on finding a drive shaft. There is a guy in NY that makes them using stronger components than OEM, he quoted me a price of $300.00. I ended up making ny own.
rickv1957 74 #6 Posted April 22, 2010 Randy,I see your brake pedal is down,is your spring broken?, Rick
Operator 7 #7 Posted April 23, 2010 Tim , my plan is to use the PO's shaft [farm tractor snap style] then I went to TSC and got the small male end to match that, now I'll machine that to fit the shaft on my D. Your opinion? Work? Rick, No pedal is down when my parking brake is on, but the spring could be stronger yes. Jason, I got a call this afternoon, one of my trucking buddies was loading in Cincy' which is 75 miles from where tiller was! He would have picked it up for me. Ain't that the way it goes? catman81056 3 #9 Posted April 23, 2010 I had to replace the pinion shaft on mine and they are not cheap. I wanted to create a "safty" to prevent that happening again, so instead of using a heavy roll pin on the PTO side of the shaft, I've been exparimenting with brass and grade 2 round stock. I firured shearing a pin is alot better than the teeth on the pinion. I just carry a few extras with me when I till for some one else. Side note; The first time you use this on unbroken ground, be ready for a rough ride. Those things are like an extra set of drive wheels back there. It will make you wish you had an 8 speed. You'll see :omg:
Operator 7 #10 Posted April 24, 2010 Nice looking shaft Tim! Any chance you got a picture of it on tiller and mounted? The splined stub shaft end, which end does that fit? Tractor? That U-Jouint yoke find it splined? Fit Horse PTO shaft? Thanks for those pic's now I have more ideas! Randy
catman81056 3 #11 Posted April 24, 2010 The stub end goes inside the coupler on the end of your PTO. The splined shaft came from a Bolens, its the rear out put shaft, 15 spline X 1" The yokes and universal joint I got at Rural King, 1400 series. The yoke with the stub end is 1" so I just drilled a 5/16 hole thru it all for the pin. I see you have at least 1/2 of the shaft on the tiller. Depending on slides into it (the configuration), it should be easy enough to fab up the slider end to PTO section. I'll take a few mors pics to show the collar I made to keep the splined stub in the coupler.
Operator 7 #12 Posted April 25, 2010 Thanks Tim! Your explanation helps. I'll get pictures of what I have to deal with. My PTO shaft out the back is only the spline, no coupler. after looking at your splined yoke, the splines look the same as my shaft. so if I was to go to TSC find a splined yoke it might slip on to my shaft - my thinking. What I got with tiller is the other half of the shaft with a quick coupler like the "real" farm tractors use with the slide button on the side. I'll get pictures to explain better.
