DoctorHfuhruhurr 136 #1 Posted April 21, 2010 Is there a preferred removal method for taking off the plastic choke/gas knobs from the metal lever without breaking them? I'm famously heavy handed and would prefer not breaking them if possible. thanks in advance!! Anon Y Mous

chesbaycruiser 82 #3 Posted April 22, 2010 During my 312 teardown I hit the knobs with a heat gun for a bit (carefully) and it came right off. (OK...actually I hit it with just the heat, not the gun.) :omg:
rmaynard 14,922 #4 Posted April 22, 2010 Take a pair of vice grips and clamp onto the lever. Then take a nail puller and put between the back of the knob and the vice grips. Apply downward pressure on the nail puller and the knob will pop off with ease, and no damage to the dash panel. (That panel was already broken) Bob
