KyBlue 655 #1 Posted April 20, 2010 I picked this baby up a few hours ago. Its in REALLY good shape, can only find one broken piece, and of course the missing catch basket...
MikesRJ 558 #2 Posted April 20, 2010 I'll make a suggestion based on what I just did to my sweeper, which is a 31" Lawn Sweeper, Model 7-2512 (essentially the same as yours). One of the Hamper tubes (Tube-Bottom, the right side bottom frame bar under the Hamper side) was rotted out and needed to be replaced. With a conduit bender and a piece of 1/2" conduit, I re-created the part. Both my cross-rods (Rod-Hamper Tie) were also rusted and broken on the ends, and since I'd bought an 8' piece of conduit for the previous repair with plenty left over, I made two cross-bars to replace the broken Rod-Hamper Ties by inserting 3/8" threaded rod through the conduit. I installed one each at both of the hamper tie locations. This is just a thought for your repair, and I will add a picture or two of mine later today so you can have something to go on. EDIT: Pictures Added
KyBlue 655 #3 Posted April 20, 2010 Thanks Mike ... I hadnt thought about using conduit... Good idea! I might have some Steel Tube laying around somewhere in the scrap pile that I'd thought about using, but conduit is alot cheaper..haha Is yours missing its catch bag too? I'd like to get some detailed photos/measurements so I can remake one for mine..
MikesRJ 558 #4 Posted April 22, 2010 I still have the original hamper with mine. All of the cotton thread was rotted out so it is being re-sewn by a friend who owns an industrial (upholstery) sewing machine. As soon as it comes back I can get some measurements for you.
