firemart 0 #1 Posted April 19, 2010 What viscosity do I use in the old C-120 (K301)? How much? Any other tips for a mower that's been sitting idle for awhile?

firemart 0 #4 Posted April 20, 2010 I have a big jug of Pennzoil 10W30 in the shed, never opened. Will 10W30 work OK? I live in NE Alabama, and we have warm spring, hot summer into fall, moderate winter.

I live in NE Alabama, and we have warm spring, hot summer into fall, moderate winter. I'd use straight 30 Wt (I use Rotella), I think the multi grades are too thin for use in summer (especially down there...). I've also found that my engines will burn a bit of the multi-grade, but dont seem to use any of the straight 30. Having said that though, I would use the multi-grade that you have to get the thing running. And I'd change it again for the 30 wt after you've run the tractor a bit, but before you work it too hard, and before the weather gets too hot.
