Gettin' Ready To Work

Recommended Posts

After trying to drag logs around the yard and spinning tires I did some searching and found some Deestone Ags (see picture). They have helped significantly and were only $45.00 each for a 6 ply tire...good low price option for anyone looking for ags.

NEW FIND!!!

My wife and I were visiting with her grandmother yesterday when I made a find. While poking around the yard and saw a moldboard sticking up above the grass and just had to investigate. Long story short I came home with a moldboard she was going to throw away. I do not know who made it or how to measure to determine the size but it will work for me.

Just going by looks, it's a Brinly plow. You measure it like this. (This picture is a 14 inch plow, looking down at it from the back)

To find the size, measure across the bottom from the landside to the part of the share that is farthest from the landside.

Where did you get your Deestones and what size did you go with? They look good on your tractor.

The Deestones came from a small town tire shop run out of a large tin shed here in Mississippi. They are 23 8.50X12. I had them mounted on tubes so I could add water if needed later on down the road.

According to the diagram above the plow is a 9 inch.

According to the diagram above the plow is a 9 inch.

Then you have a 10" plow. (they came in even numbers...8, 10 and 12) As the plow share wears down and gets ground down for sharpening, it will measure less.
