Opinion Needed

My 1988 414-8 is cutting out when I cut the grass. It runs good until I get on an angle, then every once in awhile it will sputter and then catch itself and run fine. I'm thinking either dirt in the fuel system somewhere or looking at the safety switch on the seat as it appears to be wore down pretty far. Your valued opinion please.

bypass the safety switch then recreate the situation that causes the sputtering, and see what happens

if you safety conscious, take the mower belt off so the blades don't spin,

Gary...I am stuck in the 60's...but all of these horses are belt driven. Sometimes I notice that the traitor gets "ahead of it self" and the belt drive catches up. Could this be what you are talking about? :D If it is...it is normal and no worry. :D

You would notice it more going down hill...would not notice it going up hill. Just saying it could be normal. :omg:
