Barn Find

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys - first time posting. Just wanted to share how I found this 1979 C-81. Found an ad on Craig's List and went to see a guy in Carmel, NY. He bought this tractor new and was using to mow his extremely large lawn and found that it was to small for what he needed. He retired this to his barn and literally forgot about it for 15 years. I paid $200.00 for the tractor, 36 " mower deck & Jackson cart. Had to do some work on it - complete tune up, new fuel line, cleaning out of gas tank, new battery, etc. Turned the key and it started right up. Just wanted to share some photos with you. This tractor is in great shape for the year. Once I get the mower deck refurbished, I will be selling my John Deere! :omg:

:omg: That is SWEET! Very nice find! Those little 8hp just seems to look swallowed up by the tractor but it still looks great.

Thats a great find... :omg: I'd put all that paper work into a binder like a car enthusiast would do with the window sticker or a build sheet!

Looks like your owner no# 2... :D

Good looking tractor. Wish mine looked that good. I noticed the front belt pullys are off the tractor. If you need the assembly let me know. I don't have a mower deck but all the front pully attachments are intact.

I would keep the J.D and wear it out and save the C-81. You will never find another one in that shape.
