RMR-32 mower deck application

Recommended Posts

Guys,

I have a RMR-32 mower deck with the rear lift rod that attaches to the rear hitch. I thought it would fit my 56 RJ however it does not. The instructions say that the hangers go to the 2nd and 4th holes in the frame and the RJ only has 3 sets of holes in the frame.

My question is can anyone tell me what model/year tractors does this mower deck fit? I believe it is for a Suburban but not sure. It looks like the rear slot hitch insert is similar to the one on my old 550. Any help would be great and if you have one mounted a picture would be great too, Thanks- Steve bo-

Steve, that's the RMR-32 for a 1960 Suburban. It should also engage with a right side foot "pedal" (bent steel rod on the foot peg) Here's mine mounted... sorry, I don't have a picture from the back. But you can see the engagement pedal.

There were at least 4 versions of the RMR-32, including the one above. The two preceding RMR-32 and RMR-32-56 for RJs engaged with a snap pedal on the left side down on the deck shell itself, and no rod/bracket to the slot hitch. Like the picture below. The first RMR-32 was a three blade belt driven unit (not timed gearing like these) and engaged just by the lift lever.

In 1961 they added wheels and called it the RMR-3261.
