leichty 0 #1 Posted March 31, 2010 Hey guy's i need your advice. My engine runs smoothe for a while and then all of the sudden it stumbles almost stalls. Then it smoothes out again, I notice that does it almost anytime that you put it in gear and release the clutch. Sometime it does it when it has been sitting at idle for a while. There is no fuel filter on this tractor....
W9JAB 156 #2 Posted April 1, 2010 It sure sounds like a fuel supply obstruction, or the float in the carb. bowel hanging up. At any rate a cleaning of the fuel system is in order. Also check the gas tank, I have seen fiendish things at the bottom of a gas tank that would plug the feed line out of the tank, once the engine stopped and the fuel suction ended the debris would move away from the line, it would run fine until the fuel suction started again and pulled the debris back to the feed. :omg:

algrc120man 0 #4 Posted April 2, 2010 if this engine has an updraft carburetor make sure all of the gaskets are bin good shape and all bolts are tight does the adjuster make any diffierence if not i agree that it needs a good cleaning and if you are going to clean the system dont forget to install a fuel filter . a lot of times with the up draft carbs the dirt or water will collect right at the main adj screw area you may be able to remove the adj assy and let some gas flow through and flush out any contaminates sometimes this will work but not very often :omg:
