I picked up a real nice set of gang reel mowers this afternoon for $75. The blades are in great shape and VERY sharp. I can't wait to get them adjusted and try them out.

A friend of mine has a gang mower that he uses. They seem to do a very nice job, as long as you don't run at TURBO speed. :omg:

They are pretty cool Matt. Looks fun to use. My experience with reel mowers is they don't like long grass - just bend tall grass over rather than cut it. Can anyone tell me if that is typically true? Or was it just the particular reel mower I had.

When I first bought my home that is all I had a single $99.00 reel mower. Now I have two push mowers and 5 mowing decks. My how times change.

My experience with push reel mowers is the same. Long stems get missed.

Supposedly golf courses are the biggest users of reel mower, or so I have heard. It makes sense since they have to cut quite frequently.
