rjr 0 #1 Posted March 24, 2010 I have tried basic primer and paint, & Rubberized undercoat to protect the bottom of mower decks. Neither works very well. It usually takes less than a season before the paint is gone. I was thinking of trying West Systems epoxy and wondered if anyone had ever tried epoxy or two part paints. Lane Ranger 11,394 #3 Posted March 24, 2010 I have used Por-15 clear (two light coats on first after cleaning the deck bottom well) and Por-15 two-part hardened paint as a top coat. It is holding up very well!
Butch 194 #4 Posted March 26, 2010 I'm gonna use Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator or POR-15 for the underside only. I have never used Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator but have used POR-15 for at least 12 years. I have had success with POR-15 against rust and I have also had failures with it. That is why I'm considering the Rust Encapsulator. POR-15 looks like it just had a huge price increase. I think it went from $35 to $50 for the 6-pack. Anyway to have a failure at the high price of this paint is unsatisfactory to me. But the POR-15 does dry ROCK HARD. Butch S. Jersey
