dw1973 17 #1 Posted March 20, 2010 I have an opportunity to buy a mower deck for an RJ. My early 55 RJ did not come with one. I will probably never use it but for collecting how valuable are they to have with the tractor in good shape? How much would one expect to pay for one in decent shape? Are the mower decks the same for all RJ model years? Does anyone have pics to show all the hardware to connect and run one so I will be able to tell if this deck is complete? Thanks in advance to all who respond.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted March 20, 2010 Here's the deck from my late '55 / early '56: It came with my RJ, and going by what people are paying for just the tractors, I got the deck for free. :omg:
dw1973 17 #3 Posted March 21, 2010 I picked up the mower deck today and it came with the solid early 55 lift handle which matches my early 55 RJ. It is missing both pulleys and the large spring so I will need those parts - anyone know what size pulleys to use? It turns freely and the blades are complete. I paid $35 for it. Thanks for the pic TT. I noticed the sides of my deck are slightly different than yours and it looks factory - not altered.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #4 Posted March 21, 2010 I think mine does have heavier angle welded over the original "skids". I would go look at it, but I forget where I put it. :omg:
VinsRJ 723 #5 Posted March 21, 2010 TT, there is a little extra beef welded to yours. Dave, I will pull mine out tomorrow and get you the measurements.
