rodco 0 #1 Posted March 17, 2010 I noticed while adjusting the tension on the belt of the PTO for the pump of the ARK loader that the belt pullys were not line up. IS this correct? I don't see any adjustment to move either the PTO pr the pump. Here is a photo:
W9JAB 156 #2 Posted March 17, 2010 :omg: I do not have a PTO on my tractor, but that belt is not right! :D
C-Series14 15 #3 Posted March 17, 2010 Mine is a little off. About the only thing to do would be to enlarge the slotted holes on the top of the mount so you can move it in towards the tractor...
rickv1957 74 #4 Posted March 17, 2010 You should be able to loosen set screw on pump pulley and adjust pulley to line up with pto,Rick
C-Series14 15 #5 Posted March 18, 2010 Well crap, guess that would be first to try!!! :omg:
baerpath 517 #6 Posted March 18, 2010 I would try using a prybar under the front corner of the engine. To me it looks like the rubber grommet has sunk, Thats my 2 cents anyone got change ? Duane
6wheeler 669 #7 Posted March 18, 2010 Here's a penny Duane, I think the same thing. or at least check the pump frame mount. Either it an optical illusion, or the brace tha comes down from the Engine looks bent to me. What you could do though, send me the whole works and I will fix her up for ya and return it promptly (in 15 or 20 years) Good luck Pat
C-Series14 15 #8 Posted March 18, 2010 The pump and all it's brackets mount to the engine. If he pried up on the engine, the pump would move with the engine, wouldn't it?
faster 11 #9 Posted March 18, 2010 My .02 cent is that your pto plate is shot which will move the pulley closer to the engine. But if it still works just run it.

I don't have an Ark like that My Ark is on a D250, My Quickway's have the pump mounted seperatly. Had a problem lining it up and that was the problem Duane
rickv1957 74 #11 Posted March 18, 2010 You could also move engine pulley out a little as long as there is clearence between drive belt and belt cover,Rick
d200 0 #12 Posted March 19, 2010 I would agree with C-Series 14 I would try to slot the bolt holes. Prying scares me and I think that would be the last resort. All the information sounds pretty good. Rick's shim idea sounds good to move the pulliesto get them lined up. Are you going through belts or have trouble with belt wear?

The Loader works fine and has no problems, I just was not sure if they were suppose to be lined up. The belt got a little loose, but I tightend up the slack and she works great no. C-Series14 15 #14 Posted March 20, 2010 I looked at mine again, it is off just about as much as yours. My belt though is down in the pulley. Maybe my pump pulley is not on as far as yours...try moving it like Rick said...
Docwheelhorse 2,740 #15 Posted March 20, 2010 I have had 2 Qwik Ways and neither one the belt lined up.... there isn't enough shaft on the pump to make any adjustment eiter. I would just run it and don't worry about.... the loader in the post I made a couple hours ago has a belt that isn't lined up either... Tony
refracman 167 #16 Posted March 21, 2010 Mine lined up the same as yours and worked fine right up to when I said gee maybe I should move the pulley a little bit to line them up better I only moved it a 1/4 of an inch tighened it back down. Then it proceeded to strip out the keyway and come flying off I would say leave it be and just replace the belt when necessary. Now I am looking for another pulley and it seems like they dont make that configureation any more might have to get a keyway cut into the old one :D
