no spark

B) all, no spark to a 7hp kohler to the points or plug changed the coil and still nothing any ideas?? simply turns over and nothing It was running shut it off and ??

i've had the same problem before, turned out to be ign. switch. check the switch with a test light and see if you got juice.

I would but previous owner jumped it out and I realize that i need to rewire but it was running before I shut it down yesterday push button and it would start only thing was battery wore down

B):party: I feel dumb steve bo came over and bailed the old man out again. Is the toggle that was tucked up under the hood out of sight need to be on to start?? answer is yes. thanks steve also ken i will return the coil thanks for trying to help me out and nice meeting you!! Jim

The old man is losing it !! I too fell victim to trying the usual... new coil, condenser cleaning and adjusting the points. Then I took a look and traced the wire from the coil back to a kill switch the po wired up. Now that dad has a running tractor maybe he will do a proper restoration :party:

I can relate to this. Yrs. ago I had a custom van. I was under the dash of it for some reason or another, runnin speaker wires if my memory is correct. Well, when I was done with that and went too fire it up, zip, zero, nadda. I pulled my damn hair out tryin to figure what the frig. Wouldn't you know it, way up under the dash, was a hidden kill switch I musta bumped. Stuff happens. Glad too hear she is up and runnin for ya, thats what really matters. B)
