Cleaning before reassembly

Recommended Posts

I have my 1997 314-8 apart and was looking for suggestions on cleaning everything before putting it back together. Anyone use a degreaser, etc. I having been brushing dirt and grease off by hand, but looking for other suggestions.

We clean our rescue boat with SImplee Green and a pressure washer (seven months in the water=much slime and mildew!). Same system's got to work on a tractor!

Simple Green works great as does Dawn dish detergent. I mix the Dawn up in a spray bottle with the hottest water I can. Spray the real greasy areas several times. Then hook the hose up to the hot water side of the wash machine and use spray nozzle works great.

I like using Mineral Spirits..no residue, cuts grime right now, and rinses off with a garden hose. You can buy in quarts or by the gallon. I pour a little on the part, brush it, wipe it off and hose it...done. :omg:
