Sleeve Hitch

Recommended Posts

I just bought a Brinly 10" moldboard plow that will be used on a 520H. I think I need a sleeve hitch to properly attach the plow. Is this correct? Does the sleeve hitch connect to the hyd. lift system on the tractor so I can lift the plow? There are a couple of sleeve hitches on EBay. How do I make sure that all of the pieces that I need are included? Did Toro make a sleeve hitch? I cannot find it listed on the Toro website. Will an aftermarket sleeve hitch work? Sears has one listed for their tractors and there may be others. As you can tell from the questions I am new at this. Why can't I just hook the plow to the draw hitch that is allready on the tractor?

You need this. Toro calls it a Clevis Hitch not a sleeve hitch. (that's Brinly's name for it) Kit number 85518, should run you about $250-300. (rcpw.com lists it for $250... the toro online store lists it for 310.) You could buy one off ebay, but like you said, how do you know if you have all the pieces.... you'll likely be missing something and have to buy replacements, causing you to spend as much if not more than just ordering a new kit in the first place.

As for why you need it....the draw bar is stationary, this hitch raises and lowers with the lift. Oh... and by the way, this will install with the drawbar hitch (in place of the spacers)... you just leave them both on the tractor.
