puckshot 0 #1 Posted March 11, 2010 I was looking for a post that explained the seat styles on different horses. Mostly, the '70 C series is what I'm wondering about. I've see the plastic low and high back seats. But, the style on my c-101 seems to be mounted on mid '70 tractors. Is there a name for the style of seat on my c-101(see avatar). I do not have the armrests but the seat has a metal pan w/ 2 piece vinyl butt and back pads. Thanks.
puckshot 0 #2 Posted March 11, 2010 Sorry, I see my avatar is too small to see the seat very well. Attached Image
MikesRJ 558 #3 Posted March 11, 2010 Commonly referred to (around here at least) as the three-piece (adjustable) seat. It was optional on many machines prior to 1973 or thereabouts, and was standard on many tractors after that year. If the machine did not come with one pre-installed, they usually came with either the low or high back one-piece seats. Another seat exists which roughly looks like an old style (50's-60's) kitchen chair. There may be more, and I'm sure others will add more info as well. Kelly 1,033 #5 Posted March 11, 2010 I'm going to say that seat was added to your tractor I don't belive they used that style on the 78 and newer machines. I see you have the uncommon solid center rear wheels, I belive they only used them for a few years around 78 to 80 I've got a set off a C-
puckshot 0 #6 Posted March 11, 2010 Thanks Kelly. I was thinking this is a frankenstein tractor. I hadn't heard or noticed the rear wheels were different and rare. That's a nice surprise. I still haven't run the serial numbers from the motor and tractor. But, I noticed the po had scribbled '78 and '74? on the user manual. So, maybe he didn't know what it was either. -Scott
