boatman 3 #1 Posted March 7, 2010  I am looking to buy a 3pt hitch tiller for GT14. I see it has it's own belt tightner clutch. Does the belt run all the way up to pto or do i have to add some pulleys in the middle like other older tillers? The tiller I have on my c-125 has a set of pulleys that snap into mid tach o matic hitch.
Brrly1 1,146 #2 Posted March 7, 2010 Boatman, there are no extra pulleys necessary. Do you have the drive pulley off of the main pulley? Look at the drive pulley from the back of the tractor (right side) and there should be another pulley to the outside of the drive pulley. Let us know what you find. There is also a guard that goes maybe a little over a third of the way around that pulley that keeps the belt in place. This guard mounts off of the mount for the rear fender which sits atop the rear axle. Hope that makes sense. Good Luck Burly Just adding more info

boatman 3 #4 Posted March 7, 2010 B) Thanks BRRLY, there is no extra pulley on transmission. The drive pulley on hydro just has one groove for the main drive belt. Do I need some other Pulley and where does it hook on to? There does't seem to be enough extra shaft to put another pulley on.
Brrly1 1,146 #5 Posted March 7, 2010 Boatman, There is enough pulley but I don't believe that you want to use a two piece pulley. They make a single piece with two pulleys on that piece. One of the guys just posted a couple pictures here a while back. I will look back and see if I can find it. It may take awhile because I have things to take care of here at the house. I will check here shortly. See Ya, Bye Burly It is under GT14 question, rear pto pulley Well I found it and added a reply. I hope I don't upset any of the MODS. Last thing I need to do is make somebody else upset. Have a GREAT Day. Outside to play See Ya, Bye Burly :hbd:
defed 0 #6 Posted March 8, 2010 seems to me that the original tiller pulley was an extra pulley that got added onto the hydro shaft. i thought i've seen a kit, that maybe got sold w/ the tiller? but i think it was prone to causing the hydro shaft to fail from the extra stress. this looks like an 'add on' to me, but can't say for sure.
