BigRedD180 1 #1 Posted February 20, 2010 I think I got the fever I found another D and checked it out tonite. I was able to get good price on it and it looks complete unlike the D180 so I can't wait to get her home to see if I can get her running again. The guy I am buying if from said the it ran but it started to smoke so he pulled the heads to check the rings , kinda hard to see the rings from the top of the pistons The pics are not very good as I had to take them with my phone and it was getting pretty dark, I'll post more once I get her in the garage for repairs. As you can see she is a nice rusty orange but only surface rust, a little elbow grease should clear that up So what make you a collector? Two or more horses in the stable? Cause I have been and enthusiast since I saddled up for the first time

Operator 7 #8 Posted February 20, 2010 B) Nice find for sure. Hope you got a good price too. Is there some lights on the front of fenders or reflectors? I've seen those before but my D doesn't have them. Just wondering. Randy
BigRedD180 1 #9 Posted February 20, 2010 I did not notice but it looks like lights because there are screws on both sides. My D180 has reflectors. The guy I got this from was unsure of the year, I took a pic of the s/n to look it up but it did not turn out. Decal would indicate a later D, like a 78 or 79. I dont know if you guys usually put what you paid but I am going to, I got her for $400 so I can't lose even if I cant get it running it will service for parts. After doing the engine work on my D180, I think that it was pieced together by someone who really did not know what they were doing, ie brake pedal is missing the linkage to the forward/reverse lever, parking brake does not work properly, the mule pulleys for the deck are off. So I cant wait to look at this complete D so I can see what exactly I am missing on the D180 to rehab it.
pfrederi 18,660 #10 Posted February 20, 2010 They should be reflectors,...the screws on either side hold the fender on.

Operator 7 #13 Posted February 21, 2010 Sounds like a good deal to me! Stop at the car wash on the way home and give him a bath and I'll bet it'll look 100% better. Three point? rear PTO? 60" deck or a 48"? Randy

Three point? rear PTO? 60" deck or a 48"? Randy It's pretty basic, no PTO or 3 point, it is a 48" deck. I have a PTO shaft that I will probably put on it. I would like to use this one for the loader that I want to build, so I really dont need the three point.
