DMK855 15 #1 Posted February 15, 2010 I have a K181 that was missing some external governor pieces. I picked up the parts that I needed and while I was installing them, the whole shaft pulled out. It appears the tab has fallen off. I have not torn into it yet, but plan too real soon. The question that I have is will I need to tear down the complete engine, or is it something that can be done with minor teardown?? Thanks in advance!! sorekiwi 761 #3 Posted February 16, 2010 I think I read somewhere that someone managed to get at the governor pieces without removing the crank, but when I tried I couldnt get up there. I ended up removing the crank, but I did leave the piston up the bore...
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #4 Posted February 16, 2010 I can do the big blocks without removing any internals, but I have never tried to do a 141/161/181 - mainly because I've never seen one with a broken governor shaft tab. B)
