Audioshot 2 #1 Posted February 14, 2010 I'm looking to replace the idler pulley's on my 37" deck. The deck is the newer 1992 with the flat idlers, however, one is wider. Partstree has them but lists them for over $70 (for the wider one)! Holy smokes! I'm going to replace the mule drive pulley's also. The Parts numbers on the deck are: 119130-3 $70 112791 $50 Does anyone know of alternates that will work? Thank you
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted February 14, 2010 Did you try crossing them to Stens or Oregon parts?
Audioshot 2 #3 Posted February 14, 2010 Hi TT, No, I didn't know I could do that. Is there a website I can enter the part numbers or do I have to go to the dealer? Chris
wingrider 21 #4 Posted February 14, 2010 Can you just replace the bearings in the pulleys or are they not replaceable wingrider
Audioshot 2 #5 Posted February 14, 2010 Good question. I'm not sure. The pulleys seems in great shape, just a little sloppy in the bearing race. I didn't know the bearing can just pop out and be replaced.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #6 Posted February 14, 2010 I just did a quick check on crossing those numbers and nothing jumped out at me. You might be able to take the measurements (or old pulleys) to a small engine shop and compare them with aftermarket pulleys though. Replacing the bearings in the stamped pulleys is usually pretty involved, but it can be done. It might mean cutting spotwelds or drilling out rivets and welding or bolting the halves back together. If you're equipped for that kind of a job, then I would try it. Unfortunately, paying the big price for little parts is sometimes the easiest way out.
