The grooves in the nose are very hard to clean out "perfect" and gloss shows any imperfections. Satin not only matches the factory finish but it is more forgiving if the prep there isn't perfect. Bugzilla46310 18 #277 Posted 1 hour ago (edited) When I begin to do any painting on my 520xi, the first thing will be to paint the rims white as having silver rims on a Wheel Horse is sacrilegious. Looking at the recommended colors, the Rustoleum Ivory Gloss I believe is no longer available. I just painted a 1998 Sylvan Blue Fish. The Ivory Gloss was about a perfect match for the white portion but unavailable. The Pettit top side Hatteras Off White is what I used. Went back and forth with Pettit as their on line paint chips or colors on the cans are not even close to the actual color. The off white is a bright white. You can see both colors compared to the front of the boat before I painted it. Was amazed how smooth the finish is for a brush on paint. I did use their hardener also. Attaching a picture of the boat so you can see the color. May be another very durable paint color for the white wheels.
