Hallas 0 #1 Posted February 9, 2010 My tank is leaking from a fix by a PO. What is the best way to plug it?
ol550 830 #2 Posted February 9, 2010 If it were mine... I'd put it with the trash and locate a used one. By the time you spend time and money on a repair kit that might work you could be on the road again. Mike
Duff 206 #3 Posted February 9, 2010 Hallas, if your tractor is a 300-400-500 series (maybe C-series, too - I don't know), the tanks come up often on eBay, or post something here in the "Wanted" section of the classifieds. Shouldn't be too expensive and I agree with Mike - the repair will probably cost more than the replacement with no gurantee of success. Duff B)

WheelHorse_of_course 99 #8 Posted February 10, 2010 If you need to fix a gas tank, metal or gas, in a hurry, the product Seal All is perfect. If it is just a drip you can use it without draining the tank. My brother used to maintain a small fleet of 30 year old trucks and this was a product that did what it said and was fast and easy. I also looked and JB Weld can do the job, but it looks like you have to drain the tank (if it is a metal tank you would want to do that to get all the dust/rust/debris out of the tank). That said, replacing your tank is certainly a better idea, particularly in the longer run.
