D-250 in the snow

Recommended Posts

oilcrazy

Used my D-250 to relocate 15 inches of snow dumped on Western PA over the weekend to make room for another 10 inches on its way.

GREAT LOOKING D-250 rig! B) That's a "beast". How did it handle the 18" of snow. Our snow was extremely wet and heavy and built up horribly behind the blade. I should think your D-250 didn't even whimper. Is that a 56" blade?

Hyd. power angle? Really? Now that would be cool! Need a cab though.

Thanks for the compliments guys, that's a 59 " blade with power up, down, & angle. We're to get another 8 to 12 inches today and tomorrow so I'll probably put the wheel weights on. I have a homemade pair that weighs 74# each so that should help a lot. Could put the tiller on too, it weighs about 200# but cuts down on the backing and turning room. B) Art

Hi Art,

This is Charlie, fellow 250 owner. My '76 D-250 didn't do too well. We had 22 inches and I did it all at once. I have 150lbs of weight, snow cab, blade and ag tires. No chains. A plow is useless if the snow is higher than it because it can't push it anywhere. I have a 48" blower that I am working on for the tractor.

I am currently in the process of buying a 3pt and tiller for the tractor. I am also looking at another 250 with a loader.

You can put a rod through the 3pt and put barbells on that. That's what I'm doing.

Charlie

Good Idea Charlie about the bar's and weights on the 3 point lift. I was wondering what the best way would be to put weights on my D195 with 3 point lift. I will give your method a try. Mine won't be happening anytime soon. Please post picts of yours when you get it done.

Thanks,

Dan

Ah Ha, I now have figured out or basically it just hit me who this is. Hi Art, this is Big John out of Toledo. How are you and Russ doing over there in all of this snow? As of right now we got 6" on the ground since this morning and are expecting another 4"-6" tonight. Tell Russ I said hello . Like I said earlier the D-250 is looking good. I am actually surprised that you are even using it. Do you have a blade for the D200? Talk to you soon Take care. See Ya, Bye Burly

Does the 250 take the same blower as the other D's?

That is a nice looking machine.

B) I like Charlies idea about the barbells on the 3 point, i just need to fab a bracket to mount them. Burly, I don't have a blade for the D180, it's more of a trailer queen, just goes to a few shows a year. The D250 has a pretty easy life, tills a few gardens and plows some snow, lives in a heated garage. Dunno if the blower for a 250 is the same as the other d models. I had one a few years back for another D250 but never used it and sold it. They are only single stage blowers, shaft driven.
