1991 310-8 back together

It was a rust bucket and then I tore it almost down to the frame and cleaned and painted the lower sheet metal, inner workings and dash. Lubed all the fittings, then replaced with new front and rear tires, belts, gas line, filters, spark plug, tranny oil, shifter dust boot, throttle, choke, ignition switch, wiring.

Man, this machine runs strong. The steering and tranny is very tight too. I just blasted and then welded the lift points then primed and painted the 37" deck. I ordered the battery bracket and I need to get a new seat somewhere and headlight lamps.

It is only 7 degrees here south of Boston and I can't wait for my grass to grow.

Thanks a lot! It's funny how you can get into these things. All I wanted was any old used lawn/garden machine and found this for a couple hundred bucks. After I started tearing into it, I couldn't believe how incredibly well engineered it was. I did some research online and then found this forum, made some local contacts with other owners and dealers and now I'm hooked.

Hey, your 310-8 looks great, I think in the spring, I'll need to do a little painting to get my 1988 310-8 looking that good again. You can get a nice after market seat from Northern Tools. Where are you located (Boston?) I'm in Norton. There are quite a few of us in the Mass,RI CT area. Joe in Norton, MA

@ JoeMonag: I'm right next to you in Mansfield! Too funny.

I'm going to order that seat then the front grill needs a couple dents taken out. I guess the previous owner couldn't stop in time once. Here I was ready to drop 4 or 5k on a Deere or Cub Cadet, I'm sure this won't be my last WH. I'm on the hunt for a tiller attachment now.
