C100 PTO question

Recommended Posts

rick

When I pulled the engine down for overhaul, there was a cut off stud screwed into

the end of the crankshaft. I found the remains of thrust washer and two flat washers in the grease and debris in the PTO "bell". I have not seen these parts in my other

tractors. I had no trouble finding them in the IPL, but it seems they are not necessary,

since they don't appear to be used anymore. Can anyone enlighten me about these parts? I have started building the engine and need to know if I should get them....

They are what used to be used to push the PTO pulley away from the clutch plate and into the brake pad when the PTO was disengaged.

The stub shaft and clips on the PTO pulley were later redesigned to actually pull the pulley away from the clutch disc when disengaged and the internal spring was no longer necessary.

Thanks, TT. Sort of what I thought. Looks like I can do without them then.
