I picked up a set of Ags' from Glens Surplus for the rear...but one problem...They wont come off! haha I cant get the wheel to come off the hub, or the hub to come off the axle... LOL I Can't win for loosing. Ive been soaking it with some PB blaster...

Anybody have any genius ideas on how to get em apart??

Use a Puller on the hub/wheel then knock the hub free?

The rims can get stuck on hub,a little wd 40 and some effort it should give,Rick

Pblaster works great. Let it soak. Whatever you do dont go crazy with a hammer. Maybe a little heat around the hub or TAP the rim a little around the hub.

Get on the backside of the rim and use a block of wood and a hammer. A few light smacks outa do it. Dont whack it with all you have or you'll have the whole axle in your hands.

What brand are the fronts Scott?

I'd try to get the wheels off first, Scott, and then tackle the hubs.

I cant remember which tractor it was, but I had one where the rear wheels wouldnt come off. I ended up loosening off the lugnuts about 1/2 way and then driving the thing in a hard circle in my driveway. They came off pretty quick then!

Very nice Scott!

Tires are needed but they do drain the wallet real quick!

Good luck on the hubs........I am sure we will get an update tomorrow on how easy they came off! :banghead:

I agree that loosening the lug bolts and driving around (try to cross some ditches at an angle) should get them loose....

Karl - thats how I took em off. So thats how I put em back on. From the amount of crud that got wire wheeled off the inside of hte rim, I dont think they have ever faced to the inside. It wouldnt be hard to change it around thou.

I got one of the rears off tonite. Tightened the jamb nut back down on the hub.. used a small scissor jack to put gentle pressure on the backside of the rim.. smacked it a few times with a hammer, and it popped off.. I really wonder if the rims have EVER been off of this thing..they are wheel horse tires.. They are still in good shape, so I'm gonna hold onto em. Pickup a set of rims down the road...have a spare set this way.

Lane - Picked em up at Tractor Supply.

The backs are done. The Rim that wouldnt come off, was like brand new inside - perfect paint - the outside was in decent shape too, thou It'd been painted white at some point..

The other one is flat nasty, and I'll probably need to replace it at some point not too far down the road - They were stripped and repainted just like the front ones. Thou it really didnt do me much good, I paid to have the new rubber mounted, and they totally trashed the newly painted rims.. Oh well... I'll fix it...

Sorry no Pics yet..Got em mounted up today, put em on and went and pushed snow for me and my neighbors around me.

I'll get some pictures the start of the week,
