What Size Tires?

I am looking at buying a set of Carlisle Turf Savers and was wondering what size to put on my 312H. It has 23x9.50 Turf Tracs (which suck)on it now, but I was considering going up to a 23x10.50. Would I have any clearance issues with chains on the 10.50's? Any opinions on which would look better? Thanks!

Wider always looks better....The diff between the 2 tire widths will be 1 inch, just figure that they will stick out the sides 1/2 inch more on each side.

But if you have 7" rims you shouldn't put 10.50's on them, you should really have 8.5" rims for a 10.50 tire.

They will go on your rims, they will crown up in the center. Here is a set on my C-120.

Got 10.50 Ag's on several of my C-Series and have been on there for close to 10 years, no problems...they are 7" rims. As slow as the tractors go, I see no dangerous problems. Here are duals mounted on my C-175 Twin Auto before I removed them. Done basically for a funny pic.

All car tire dealers have a catalog called "Tire Wholesales" (no prices in it) that has several pages of just Lawn & Garden tires, showing pictures of the tires & tread patterns and a list of all sizes they are available in, (I like Discount Tire, seem to have the best prices, cooperation & install, next-day delivery on all tires). Their new catalogs come out about this time of year, ask, and they might just give you last years catalog free (a nice reference manual), (only dealers can order through it).

www.MillerTire.com also has a similar but smaller chart & listing on small Turf & Lug tires, but the shipping adds up (unless you pick them up at their place or free pick-up at a show that they will be attending, they list when/where on their site).

www.CarlisleTire.com also has a much larger list & display, but their direct prices and shipping put them way up on the high end of prices, and local dealers cannot get every size & model they list there.

When the salesman mentioned that, I thought he was joking, or it had slipped out automatically, but Discount Tire does offer that "Road Hazard Guarantee", off road for Lawn & Gardens, but it's the same $7.50/tire as for car tires, extra.

Just got a set of 23x10.50-12 Tracs, $112 from them, but without the 'road hazard'.

See, that's not so funny, they really do, . . . you crazy guy.

hey guys, check out ebay (GTC wholesale specifically) for your tires. A pair of 23x8.50-12 Carlisle Super Lug tires is $86 plus shipping

EDIT: THey are DURO tires, not Carlisle.

I've mounted tires as large as 24x12x12 on the 7" wide wheels. I liked them better that way than on the wider wheels. Why? Because I was looking for improved ride, and by bending the sidewall in more, it made it more flexible. NOT a good design for your car at 75 clicks, but no real concern at 3.
