Will,

Thanks for Scott in Warsaw In. and his dad i have a complete unharmed rear end in transit (shipping UPS) as I type. It is due here on Thursday. I have all the parts except one bearing to do a complete rebuild.

I painted all the parts that were sandblasted this weekend and the new decals are on the way from Terry. I hope to have it back together in the next 2 weeks. We will see??

I have all the parts except one bearing to do a complete rebuild.

Steve: Let me guess the missing bearing is the 5/8" long M16101 WH#8049.

I have been working with a helpful motion industries lady. The bearing went out of production back in the 90s. She thought for awhile she could get a caged needle bearing but that is out of production also. 3/4" is available but I don't think that would fit.

Two more options one is to use a 1/2" long bearing (she is checking availability) or secondly using an open ended 5/8" which is available. As it is covered by the hydro motor and gasket...might work.

Since my bearing looked and felt OK i replaced a couple others and put her back together

Steve,

It was our pleasure to help get you back up and running. Now if we both can make it to the Wheel Horse show some year you need to bring that beast so I can take it for a spin!

Hope it all goes back together with no more headaches for you. B)

I just want to everyone here to know that Scott and his Dad from Warsaw are 2 very good people. They went out of they're way to help a fellow RS member and pulled the rear end, constructed a platform to ship it then brought it to the shipper for me. That is going above and beyond. Thanks guys !!

So .. here is the update on this tractor. The rear end that Scott and his Dad shipped is in very good condition and is unharmed. I just finished cleaning it up and pulling it apart. Everything looked good except the claw teeth which were broken off. I popped all the seals and bearings out except the 2 large ones that the axles sit on ( see picture) I would love to hear of a secret to get these out as you cannot tap them out from behind B)

The claw I have from one of the others is good so I will use that one. I am actually happy to see that something was wrong with this rear end so I feel justified in replacing all seals and bearings and opening this up.

All the sheet metal that was sandblasted has been painted and is ready to install. The decals are otw from Terry. I will not be able to get working on this until Sunday as I will be coaching at a wrestling tourney Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.
