Confused99 2 #1 Posted January 16, 2010 Today I went to fire up the 520 just cause it hasn't ran in a few weeks and when I first started it, it was only running on one cylinder. After 5-8 seconds, the other cylinder kicked in and it ran flawlessly. This has happend 1-2 other times. Has anyone had this happen or does anyone have any idea's? Cody 277 #2 Posted January 16, 2010 Sounds to me like it could be a few different possibilities. I would start off by: Checking to make sure a plug isn't fouled I would then check the plug wires and last but hopefully it is not, it could be the coil. I had the same problem with a 417 and it ended up being the coil
Confused99 2 #3 Posted January 17, 2010 Will check those first. I have new plugs on the shelf but havn't done them yet as the rear cylinder looks a little hard to get at. Thanks, Jason

sgtsampay 117 #5 Posted January 17, 2010 The back one is hard but you got to know the trick. Just get a real long extension and then go on the muffler pipe side of the tracotr and stick the extension on an angle right to the right of the wire box. Once you figure out the easy way, it so easy!! I jsut learned it on the rebuild of my freind's 520-h.

nylyon-(Admin) 7,882 #7 Posted January 17, 2010 My 416 did this for a while too. I fixed it by using the correct plug and by cleaning out the carb. I say correct plug because the owners manual for my tractor lists an incorrect plug for my Onan. I tried the Wheel Horse recommendation and I tossed those plugs and went with what came in it originally. Bottom line, the combination of both fixed the running on 1 cyl problem for me. Interesting......Do you recall what the plug number that worked was? I picked up a set of Autolite plugs I believe and just went with what the NAPA book reccomended. Thanks for the input guys, Jason
