clevis hitch adapter from slot style

Do the slot hitches tend to break? If I use one of those adapters, that convert to a clevis type, for a tiller plow? Were the clevis type made because they are stronger Or just a different means of hooking up attachments?

I think it was different brands. Brinly had the clevis and Wheel Horse had the slot. Im probably wrong but that is what Im thinking.

wheelhorse made both the slot hitch on the early models, then later came out with the clevis hitch in the 70s,the adapters will work fine as I use a couple of them,Rick

never hear of a tiller plow. but if you are taking about a plow adapter hitch like this one http://www.mywheelhorse.com/graphics/file/...pter_HH-180.pdf it work great. the new tillers hook to the rear axle hitch and the old one use the slot hitch and willn't work on the adapter.
