Ken B 3,189 #1 Posted January 15, 2010 I've been working on my RM 324 mower deck this week that I got from Stevebo. I did a total strip down of the old paint, checked all bearings etc. Everything is pretty tight. I applied 5 coats of restoration series IH red and wet sanded up to 1200 grit, and then buffed. I left things loose as I still need too replace the belts, blades and add the new decals. So my question is, does anyone know the exact belt size or part # and a part # for new blades? I've searched around for the info but I've come up empty handed. I will be using this on my restored 702 too cut the grass this season. Thanks for any help. TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #5 Posted January 16, 2010 Looks nice! The two belts on the deck are part # 1578 (3/8" wide X 37" long) The tractor to deck drive belt is # 1577 (1/2" wide X 28" long) The blades are still available as a "kit" under part # 8777 but be prepared to shell out some big money for them. Ken B 3,189 #6 Posted January 16, 2010 Thanks Terry, thats exactly what I needed. Now I can finish this project up and mount and test it. Heck, it ain't snowing here in CT so I may as well be prepared for grass cuttin.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #7 Posted January 16, 2010 At least you have a few months to save up money for the blades. Remember to install them on the correct sides too.
