jla1257 2 #1 Posted January 13, 2010 I searched old posts for any information about the max drawbar pull weight for various Wheel Horse tractors, but was unable to find much information. What I did gather is that pulling weight with a slot to drawbar adapter can cause damage; so it is better to use a drawbar. I will probably set up a drawbar pull test for exact numbers specific to my 1257, but out of curiosity I have the following question. How much weight do you pull around with your Wheel Horses on trailers and with what model?
rmaynard 16,291 #2 Posted January 13, 2010 I don't know the amount of tongue weight that can be applied to the hitch, but I have pulled logs with a diameter of 10" and a length of 10 to 12'. I know that has to weight more than 600 lbs. I have a B-100 8 speed, 10hp Bob
jimt1971 237 #3 Posted January 13, 2010 I have towed 1.5 tons on a 6 x 12 trailer full of shingles with a 1054a. Jim
jla1257 2 #4 Posted January 13, 2010 WOW!! 1.5 tons of shingles plus another 300-400 pounds for the trailer...about 3400 pounds with a 10hp Kohler. Impressive.

jimt1971 237 #6 Posted January 13, 2010 Jeff, I did not know I have that much on there until I went to the dump and got weighed. The front of that tractor was very light and that drum brake needed to be stood on to stop. Jim

I have had several trips to the dump with much more weight than what I thought.
