fireman 1,022 #1 Posted January 10, 2010 I had been looking for a bigger engine for the C-81 becasue when I am driving and using the loader at the same time it would tend to be sluggish. I found a Kohler 12hp in Jersey with 400 hours. Was going to go look at it today. Last night I was cruising through some older listings on CL and found the C-125 right around the corner from where the other engine was. He had it listed a few months ago for $350. He recently dropped it to $299. A couple neighbor hood kids stopped by to look at it but couldn't get it started (It has sat since last summer). I called him up and asked about it. He said if I show up first thing with cash I could have it for $200. Well 226 miles round trip first thing this morning and this is what I got: Now I am going to give this one a make-over and put the loader on it.

fireman 1,022 #10 Posted January 10, 2010 Mike, I wanted to hang out longer but I hadn't been home since Friday morning and the wife was at her witts end with the kids . As it was, it took me almost an hour to get it into the workshop once I got home. The battery was low on water so I topped it off and putting a charge on it. Tomorrow I will change the fluids, spark plug, fuel and fuel filter and try to get her fired up.

fireman 1,022 #19 Posted January 14, 2010 Got home from work today and spent some time on the C-125. Drained the gas and replace all the fuel lines and filter. Changed the oil and transmission fluid. Put in a new spark plug. Pulled the carb and took it apart. Somehow the PO actually bent the upper section of the main fuel needle . Spent almost a hour getting that true. Cleaned the carb all out and re-assembled using the factory settings for a starting point. The battery was really low on fluid so filled it and put a charge on it. Cleaned up the body and gave it a coat of wax. Rolled the tractor outside and put some fresh fuel in along with some Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant. Cranked the engine and just after I saw fuel get to the filter it fired right up . Let it warm up for a while and took it for a spin down the road and back. This thing runs great! No bad noises or smoke of any kind. This is one of those "Stepped in SH_T" deals that happens once in a great while

fireman 1,022 #25 Posted January 19, 2010 Well thanks to Duane (baerpath) and his son, I now have a Snow Cab for the C-125. An hour our so of fabrication and welding to repair and replace some of the frame and it's all set. Now just to try some of Duke's modifications , roof lights and heat, and i'll be all set.
