C-160 Automatic

Recommended Posts

Shuboxlover

I have verbally agreed to buy a C-160 Automatic, hydro lift, 42" deck and a dozer blade (front portion ONLY, "blade part") for $200....

It is in original condition, not in great shape, but o.k.....you know...a 35ish year old tractor that has been used, but not abused.

IS THIS AN O.K. DEAL???

let me know if it is or isn't so I can ease my mind?

Hard to say without seeing it in person but it sounds like a decent deal.

My 75 C-160 auto was one of my all time favorite tractors.

If the engine runs anywhere near decent, the hydro works and it's all intact, I'd say $200 is fair.....

Would it share parts with newer Wheel Horses i.e....my 1982 work horse or 1989 312-8?

I believe it will share a lot of implements with your newer tractors. (I'm not sure if that's what you meant by parts.) One way to check that is to search for "AA_WH_Interchange_1955-_00" and you will find a PDF that lists the attachments that work with various models and cross references the different attachments. I used it to determine that a 7-1252 tiller (from '74) would work with a '97 314-H. I think the PDF may also be found at the wheel horse manual group on Yahoo (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wheelhorsetractormanuals/)

Sounds like a good deal to me. All of my decks and attachments work on my 74 C-160 8 speed, my 80 C-145 8 speed, and my 2005 Classic GT 315-8. My brother has ordered replacement parts for my 2005, to put on his 75 C-160. ( mid atach a matic and such)

A c-160 auto for $200 sounds like a really good deal, you can fix it up and it makes a nice, really nice tractor.

i think it's a good price. it's worth more than that in parts, but i would never suggest parting it out.
