Pat,

it is not an 8 speed just 4. The insert is going to be taken out and cleaned up. I may have to change the actual tank if I cannot fix the bold hole with some JB and then tap it.

Will,

I did not buy a trailer, just filled mine up.

The extras I got was

1- cetiline (spelling ??) torch with 4 tanks total and carrying dolly

2- a bunch of end mills, drills etc

3- 2 extra sets of 6x12 ags mounted on rims

4- 2 solid 4.80-8 tires with rims (heavy industrial type)

5- chain hoist (heavy duty)

6- extra chains, set of chains for 23's

7- about 75 lbs of hardware various sizes

8- table top orgainzers for hardware

9- a bunch of electrical connectors

10- small parts washer

11- electrical ceramic ceiling heater

12- a box of misc pulleys all sizes and variable type

13- nos kohler carb 4-7 hp

14- small gas powered lawn edger with 2.5 hp briggs with oil bath air cleaner

etc etc

Very good day. Only wish i had more $$ to spend. I had to pay pal him some more money when i got home as i was fresh out of cash... (except the $11 for the told on tha tap bridge due to the trailer)

The fireman and VinsRJ are going down on separate days to take a look. Vince's brother is buying that Bradley (yellow and white tractor).

Update- The carb was gumbed up like mud along with the fuel pump and lines. I was able to swap the carb with the nos one that I got as part of the deal. I flushed the fuel tank, added new fuel line and new clear fuel filter. Went to start would not stay running. Confirmed the carb settings with the Fireman and we were good there. I tested the spark and it was good. I had to take a step back and look it over. Come to find out the condensor wire was loose and broke off. I had a new condensor in the lot of parts too and added that on. I also changed the plug. Once I changed the condensor it fired right up. Smokes some but seems to clear out after running for a bit. Changed the oil and next step is to clean up the rear ags and overall cleaning of the tractor. Once the tires are all painted I will get them duallies mounted up and take some more pics. May not be until the weekend or longer as it is very cold here in CT.

I just realized why you guys thought it was an 8 speed. I got an extra shift lever that was just sitting next to the other one.

Steve, you are talking about the bolt hole in the side of the tank, where the thumbscrew that hplds the hood on should live?

The best picture I have is this one.

There is no thread in the tank on the 2 piece tanks. There is a "Speednut" there - one of those little spring steel clips with a thread formed on one side.

What do you have on the other side?

That is correct. I have the speed nut on one side and just the slot on the other which i guess could be fixed with the speed nut and some JB weld right??

I dont know if I would bother with the JB weld, Steve. I dont think it will add to the strength at all, and would think that it would break away fairly easily since it wont really be backed up with anything solid.

Without seeing the size of the hole you are dealing with, I would try and find the widest speed nut in an effort to get as much flange as possible on each side of the hole. McMaster-Carr has a few different options on speed-nuts.

If you are going to go inside the tank itself anyway, I would wait until you do that. Chances are some of those little 8-32 (I think) bolts are going to break off when you try to undo them (it happens real easy, ask me how I know!!) and you may need some surgery done to rectify that. If you end up having to get someone to do some aluminum welding for you, they could fix your other problem at the same time.
