79d250 0 #1 Posted January 3, 2010 help please, i posted something like this in the past and it has been a while since i have been on here but any ways. i have a 79 d 250 and i had the carb. rebuilt and the thing will run for 3 mins. but after it burns the gas off it dies. some have told me that it is not the carb. but if anyone has any ideas please let me know. i thank you for your time. 420lse 18 #2 Posted January 3, 2010 I had the same problem. I took the top of the fuel pump off and u wouldn't belive how much crud was stuck in the strainer. Make sure that fuel flows freely from the tank to the pump. Good luck Moe Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
