floor-it 11 #1 Posted January 2, 2010 Purchased this 42" Snow Blower this past week. Paid $150 on Craigs List for the unit. I have been using a 48" plow for 26 years now, but always wanted a blower for the deep snow that piles up along my 90 foot drive way. All is in working order except the unit needs a lift bar. I don' t have the model number because the tag is gone, and would like to determine the dimensions of the correct lift bar and flag. Gary

bork 0 #3 Posted January 2, 2010 If I were to find a blower, is there a special model to fit my 1057? Is there many different ones like the plow blades? Becuse I'm looking for one also since we got the deep snow.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #4 Posted January 2, 2010 The original thrower for that style of tractor (no front Attach-Matic hitch) would have been the ST-376 or the 6-1211. These throwers had a mounting frame that slid back over the tractor frame and was secured by a long bolt that passed through from one side to the other. The biggest downfall to running a thrower on a three speed tractor is the inability to travel slow enough to keep from over-feeding the thrower. There are ways around it (changing pulley sizes for slower ground speed) but a hydro or a 6/8 speed with low range is more suited to snow blowing. "Riding the clutch" only results in worn drive belts. If you can find (or fabricate) an Attach-Matic style Front hitchfor your 1057, then the majority of the throwers for the C/300/400/500 series tractors could be used. floor-it 11 #6 Posted January 3, 2010 Thanks very much Terry! I had already read the post that you sent me earlier today. I really needed to view the drawings to verify what Lift Tube and Lift Rod Assy was used. It appears that 76-42ST01 or 86-42ST01 both use the same lift rod and tube. I will also measure the needed length, and compare to the measurements in the post above started by Dave85zxt.
