Shuboxlover 480 #1 Posted January 2, 2010 I have a 42" dirt/snow blade that, like an idiot, when I didn't know better, wore the thing down past the bolt holes that holds the wear bar on. I have the part numbers for the new Blade and Bit (total of about $175-$200 with shipping) I see entire dozer blades on Craig's List for around $125 give or take but they are always 2 states away My Question: Is the only thing different about the 42" compared to the 48" the Blade and Wear Bar? If I found (or ordered ) the 48" stuff, would my frame still work? Do these items come already painted from Toro? My Other Question: What do you think the part number of my entire Snow/Dirt blade assembly is? It is on 1982 Work Horse? Thanks
420lse 18 #2 Posted January 2, 2010 Pretty sure u can put a 48 0n your frame. My 48 and 42 are interchangable but can't say for sure on yours without a pic. Seems like u could get a 48 with frame for what your looking at in parts.
Docwheelhorse 2,740 #3 Posted January 2, 2010 Go to your local hardware store and buy a pice of 1/4" x 42" x 2" flat stock and drill new holes through the reinforcing box at the bottom of the plow. Then bolt on the new custom made wider cutting edge and just keep on truckin!!! I have repaired several plows this way. Tony
